The building brings together
the principles of the bioclimatic approach
to the design of tall buildings developed
over the previous decade by the office.
In particular, the building has the following
features:
•
Double-volume "skycourts"
on the 1st floor/2nd floor and roof
terrace
•
A number of lower-energy
features like external louvers as solar-shading
to reduce solar heat-gain info the internal
space.
•
"Sky-court"
on roof terrace is also covered by m/s
steel louvers.
Structural System:
•
Reinforced concrete structural
frame and brick infill, post-tension concrete
floor slab, mild steel frame with louvres
structure for roof terrace.
Silver quarts slate to
roof terrace, metal louvers to roof terrace
Finishes:
•
Cream sandstone to entrance
lobby floor, composite alum walls, padded
fabric walls, carpet to office floors, ceramic
tiles to net areas, kempas floor strip to
café areas, silver quarts to balcony
and roof terrace, mineral fibreboard ceiling
to offices, white plaster ceilings to lobby.
